Whilst you are required to study core modules, optional modules provide you with an element of choice. Their availability may vary and will be subject to meeting minimum student numbers.

Marketing and Business Management

This module will introduce students to the fundamental structures and purpose of businesses. Students will develop a knowledge of functional and specialist areas in an organisation. Students will also explore differing theories of leadership and management. This module is an introduction to general business functions and specialist areas of business. It will provide the student with an introductory overview to business. It also contains self-awareness and reflective exercises.
Economics for Business and Finance

The module aims to provide an introduction to business economics as a foundation for further study. The emphasis will be economic theory and concepts developed from real world business issues. Essentially this module introduces students to economics and applications related to business and provides students with an introduction to modern economic principles and micro and macro economics.
Maths for Business and Finance

To provide a basic knowledge of mathematics for ongoing progression to a degree programme in business related subjects. To acquire an understanding of the fundamental concepts of business maths using a selection of real-world applications
Introduction to Financial Accounting

The aim of the module is to provide students with a sound foundation in basic bookkeeping and accounting techniques. This module will provide the foundation necessary for future academic and professional studies in accounting. Formative feedback is given on the assessed coursework. The examination is the terminal summative assessment.
Management and Cost Accounting

1. To explain the principles in designing management and cost accounting information systems. 2. To explain the principles involved in evaluating management and cost accounting information. The coursework provides an opportunity for formative feedback. The examination is the terminal summative assessment. Students will be introduced to the financial information needs of management. They will learn a number of relevant management accounting techniques used in the organisation.

Business Decisions, Strategy and Global Business

This module will introduce students to a range of management themes, theories and processes in contemporary business management. Students will explore Marketing & PR as key themes in contemporary business management and will also learn to recognise the relationship between Marketing & PR and organisational objectives. Students will examine Marketing & PR within the world of business using case studies and examples of real-world business scenarios.
Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance

This module builds on the module Introduction to Financial Accounting. It develops students' financial accounting knowledge and provides an introduction to the regulatory framework of accounting corporate governance and ethics. Students will focus on accounting applications within the world of business such as profit, costing, regulations and budgets.

An English level equivalent to at least IELTS 5.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
