Entry requirements
You will need:
Qualification requirements
Alternative qualifications considered
Standard entry: A recognised first degree in Law of at least a good Second Class Honours standard. Applicants who do not possess a first degree in law will normally possess a relevant alternative first degree of at least a good Second Class Honours standard. The requirements of a Second Class degree may be waived where it can be shown that an applicant has achieved a comparable academic standard through past studies and work experience of at least one year. Postgraduate entry requirements: Applicants must possess a first degree (not necessarily in law) with a minimum 2:2 classification. Applicants with a lower classification may be considered if they possess other comparable qualifications and/or who possess relevant work experience. LJMU Admissions has provided the relevant international equivalents that would be required from the various countries from which Unicaf recruits from. English proficiency requirements: An IELTS English qualification score of at least 6.0 (with a minimum of 5.5 in each element). Similarly, the minimum English proficiency requirements for the various countries UNICAF recruit from have been approved by LJMU and will be followed. LJMU Admissions have approved the Unicaf English Placement Test (EPT) where English proficiency cannot be proven otherwise. We would adhere to the LJMU agreement with UNICAF on this. Awards with Lower equivalencies: Work experience will be considered alongside awards that are lower in equivalence/comparability to a UK Honours degree (i.e. bachelor degrees in other countries that are comparable to UK Ordinary degree, DipHE or HND level) It is asked that the work experience was for at least a year and would be in a graduate level role such as paralegal. Nonstandard applications: Unicaf Admissions will handle both standard and nonstandard applications as per the guidelines provided by LJMU. Applications that do not conform to the guidelines provided by LJMU (i.e. Professional qualifications or awards that are lower than HND equivalence) will be referred to LJMU for consideration. It is asked that the work experience is for at least one year. We have produced a list of jobs that could apply through the work experience route for study -The guidelines are purely indicative and not exhaustive in any way roles could include: police officer, paralegal, academic, magistrate, mediator, Managers, Human resources, legal cost draftsman, engineers, Company Secretary, Court Clerk, Researcher, Compliance officer, Health and Safety officer.
