Modules are designated core or optional in accordance with professional body requirements, as applicable, and LJMU’s Academic Framework Regulations. Whilst you are required to study core modules, optional modules provide you with an element of choice. Their availability may vary and will be subject to meeting minimum student numbers.
Where changes to modules are necessary these will be communicated as appropriate.

Alternative qualifications considered
MSc students must have successfully completed the LJMU/SLIIT collaborative BSc (Hons) Architecture programme or the LJMU BA (hons) Architecture programme or an equivalent RIBA Part 1 validated programme of study. They must also have completed at least 6 months in professional practice. LJMU/SLIIT Architecture graduates are offered a place automatically if they attain a degree classification of 2.1 or above. LJMU/SLIIT graduates with a 2.2 or 3rd class degree and all applicants from other institutions are required to submit a digital portfolio or present a portfolio at interview prior to an offer being made.
International requirements
Other international requirements
We welcome overseas applicants who will be considered in line with normal entry requirements, although English Language capability of IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in each subtest) or equivalent is required Equivalent overseas qualifications will be accepted together with an electronic portfolio.
