Instagram Website Component Guidelines

These guidelines aim to enable the use of Instagram components on LJMU webpages to support marketing and recruitment activities, enhancing pages with engaging visual content. They also ensure that all embedded content meets appropriate quality standards and is managed in a way that maintains the university’s values and reputation and supports effective communication.

Scope

The Instagram component is available only for recruitment-focused webpages. It is not currently permitted for service-led areas, such as careers, wellbeing or internal service teams. Where there is not a recruitment-focus for a specific webpage, the LJMU corporate Instagram component will be used.

Eligibility

To ensure brand reputation and consistency, the Instagram component is limited to accounts that have been active for at least 12 months, post consistently high-quality content, and post content regularly (typically 2–3 times per week).

Eligible accounts must also clearly support student recruitment and marketing objectives.

Restrictions

Accounts created solely to enable the use of this component will not be approved. All content must align with LJMU brand standards and reflect the university’s values and expectations for external communications.

Approval Process

All requests must be submitted to Corporate Communications for review and approval. Only once approval has been granted can the request be progressed to IT for implementation.

Review

These guidelines will be reviewed periodically and updated as required.
