I began my career with the ambulance service in 1989. Quickly progressing through the roles of cadet to ambulance care assistant, technician before qualifying as a paramedic; where I predominantly worked within the Liverpool City Centre and south Liverpool areas.

In 2002, I took a full time role within Merseyside Police as a Crime Scene Investigator. During this time, I attended and managed a number of serious crime scenes and developed a close working relationship with a number of police and forensic specialists.

In 2007, I took up a post within the paramedic team at LJMU as a skills mentor, becoming a senior lecturer in 2011. Since this time I have been involved in the development of the Foundation Degree Paramedic Sciences, the Diploma in Paramedic Practice and our current BSc (Hons) Paramedic Sciences.

I have been module lead for a variety of modules and programme lead for the historic CPD Diploma for IHCD paramedics and more recently programme lead for the DHE Paramedic Practice.
