Miriam is Joint Lead for Recruitment & Admissions within the School of Nursing & Advanced Practice. This role incorporates development of recruitment processes as well as working alongside schools and colleges across the UK to promote LJMU Nursing. LJMU offers a range of dynamic and exciting programmes which can help students to thrive across their future nursing career and Miriam is proud to showcase these opportunities both nationally and internationally.

Miriam is also Joint Lead for Student Mentors with the School of Nursing & Advanced Practice; empowering current LJMU student nurses to develop leadership and mentoring skills by engaging in community outreach activities. Miriam is actively involved in a large number of community initiatives alongside over 100 student mentors

Miriam has worked at the University since 2021. Following registration as a Children and Young people's Nurse from Salford University, Miriam undertook a PgDip in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing at LJMU.

Miriam then worked across Liverpool and Sefton as a Health Visitor with a focus on health promotion, safeguarding and leadership. She holds a MSc in Public Health and is actively involved in research across the faculty, with a keen interest in exploring social determinants of health and how communities can be supported to thrive.

Miriam is a registered trainer with the NSPCC and is involved in delivery of the Graded Care Profile 2 across local NHS Community Trusts. She is also an RCNi peer reviewer and continues periodic work within the Liverpool City Region as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
