As alumni of Liverpool John Moores University, I qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2020. My previous role was a Staff Nurse in a Medium Secure Hospital. My role consisted of ensuring mental and physical health and learning disability care of inpatients.
My role within Nursing Education as Pastoral Support Tutor is supporting nursing students to access University support services and external community services if required. I work alongside many university support agencies to ensure support is accessed in a timely manner.
As one of the School’s Disability Co Ordinator’s, I support students with various disabilities to ensure they are advocated in Clinical nursing Practice and academically. This is to ensure equality, inclusivity and accessibility throughout their Nursing Degree.
I am passionate about nursing education, and I share my nursing experiences to enrich nursing education to provide the necessary skills, qualities and values to future student nurses and the future workforce.
