Ali Rostami is a Chartered Construction Manager (MCIOB) and a full member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM), with over 20 years of experience in both industry and academia. The current role held is that of Programme Leader for BSc and MSc programmes in Construction and Project Management. Responsibilities have included leading curriculum development, supporting accreditation processes, and contributing to academic strategy and programme enhancement.
A PhD in Construction Risk Management in SMEs was awarded, followed by a postdoctoral research role under the Horizon 2020-funded RiMaCon Project. This collaboration led to the development of bespoke risk management software for construction SMEs. In addition, a 20-year patent was secured for a composite ceiling system intended to improve structural safety in earthquake-prone regions. Significant experience was gained in the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors prior to entering academia, where responsibilities included delivering large-scale infrastructure projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
