As Head of Secondary Initial Teacher Education at Liverpool John Moores University, Daniel works alongside colleagues to prepare the next generation of secondary school teachers for the classroom. Daniel is committed to the emancipatory power of education. He strives to help teachers equip young people with the knowlegde, skills and values they need to folourish in an rapdily changing world.
Starting his career as a teacher of religious education and philosophy, Daniel developed an interest in the intersection of philosophical inqury and engagement with religious difference to foster deep understanding among young people. After teaching in a variety of schools in the South of England, Daniel joined the further education sector as the Head of Teaching and Learning in a specialist agricultural college. In this role, Daniel led the training and development of teachers and lecturers as they train the next generation of agri-food professionals in the UK.
Latterly, Daniel was Principal Lecturer in Teacher Education at the University of Cumbria, where he led a Secondary Initial Teacher Education partnership across Cumbria and Lancashire before recently joining Liverpool John Moores University.
